Supply chain leaders are placed at the heart of organisational conversations and often feel frustrated with the lack of understanding by their peers and senior leaders of interdependencies and constraints within supply chain.  “Us” against “Them” debate only deepens the divide between departments and hurts not only your team’s ability to deliver outstanding outcomes for your shareholders; it also negatively affects your career opportunities.

This highly interactive session focuses on challenges we experience when working in groups and how to converse in a way that enables learning, collaboration and creativity and helps to better adapt to internal and external complexity we face in today’s world. It draws on systems thinking, studies of paradoxical tensions and dialogic leadership. It also explores how our mental models and our ability to notice patterns in social networks impact the way we engage and the outcomes we can or cannot predict.

Laura Hefer, Founder and Leadership Coach at Value Addicts

Laura has been working with supply chain leaders in Europe and Australia for the last 17 years. While with the world’s leading advisory firm Gartner, she witnessed that often knowing what good looks like and how to get there, did not motivate or equip leaders to personally embrace and lead their organisation through a major change.

Laura embarked on studying a MS in Coaching Psychology to enable individuals and teams to see what is holding them, their team and their organisation back and how to overcome it. According to the World Economic Forum, we do not know what jobs will exist in 2020 but it is likely that soft skills, like creativity and leadership, will increase in their importance. Laura’s purpose is to support development of supply chain talent to meet the challenges of the future through coaching, experiential learning and psychoeducation.
