Tim Proust (Chair)

Tim has worked in the electronics industry for over 30 years, 8 years with Hewlett Packard in Sydney and Melbourne, 8 years with NEC and 17 years with Toshiba Aust. He has worked in a number of areas including sales administration, finance, product assembly and supply chain & logistics with considerable experience in process re-engineering, TQC and 6 Sigma methodologies.

Tim has trained as an accountant and completed the MBA Finance Management module in 2001. He has also completed training with the London School of Philosophy.  

In his current role as National Logistics Manager for Toshiba Aust., Tim is responsible for all import, export, domestic freight and warehousing for Toshiba’s growing and diverse business. He has spent much of the last 3 years working with his team to upgrade and rationalise Toshiba’s logistics processes, vendors, staff training and technology.

Toshiba’s Corporate Services Group including Logistics has adopted a Shared Services model of operating involving KPI collection, Service Level Agreements with its operating divisions and vendors, formal consulting projects based on cost savings and cycle time reduction/service improvement and an activity-based costing model.     

Tim has a developed a strategic & strong performance-based approach to logistics functions but with a level of flexibility to ensure models and methods are appropriately designed to meet internal customer demands. 

 

Mike Owen (Committee Secretary)

Mike Owen is a vastly experienced and pragmatic leader and career guide with nearly 35 years involvement in senior inventory, procurement, logistics and supply chain, sales, marketing and executive management roles, complimented by consulting, project management and contracting exposure. Mike has held line and functional roles as a customer and service provider in international and domestic logistics, as well as the brewing, gases, steel, and printing industries. For the past 12 years, Mike has operated his own consultancy (Supply Chain Synergy P/L). In recent times Mike was contracted to Chainalytics Australia as a Supply Chain Engagement Specialist and is currently working with ChangeLogic as Senior Client Engagement Consultant.

 

Inderjeet Virdi

Inderjeet is a strategic thinker who is able to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams with complex commercial and regulatory environment. Inderjeet leads by example in undertaking analytical tasks, engaging with stakeholders and producing deliverables. Inderjeet is highly valued conscious and delivers productive and effective client services. He has the ability to communicate with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, engendering a broad and inclusive leadership approach to achieve business objectives. 

Inderjeet possesses a superior understanding of contemporary asset management, program/project management methodologies, and has a proven record of delivery. He has excellent analytical problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to analyse complex and imperfect information and formulate creative and practical solutions.

Inderjeet deploys his specialist capability in corporate governance, risk and compliance management to enhance corporate reputation and performance. Leading cross-function teams, he has worked on many high profile business transformation projects and programs for demanding clients across a wide range of industrial and public sector environments within the Asia Pacific Region.

 

Wayne Larsen

Senior Operations Executive with more than 15 years of experience in the sourcing, manufacturing and distribution of building and industrial products. I have extensive experience with leading complex supply chains, manufacturing and logistics models from end to end. Results driven and customer focused; I am keen to challenge existing paradigms and apply systems, technology and process automation for the purpose of leading continuous organisation-wide improvement and transformational change. 
I am a passionate logistics professional with broad commercial sense; driven by the goal of attaining world-class safety, engagement, operational and customer service outcomes.
