Procurement and Supply Management refers to all the tasks involved in obtaining the optimal product from the optimal vendor on optimal terms. In the context of the core business, it primarily focuses on relationships or collaboration with vendors and allowing the company to move forward in the most mutually beneficial way possible.
The Professional Development College for Procurement will:
a) Promote professional membership and career development through encouraging registration as Associates and Practitioners in Procurement
b) Ensure ASCI members have access to resources, white papers, and documents to encourage ongoing learning and development within the Procurement and Supply Management Domain.
c) Champion the continuous capacity development of members in the Procurement and Supply Management profession seminars, workshops, site visits etc.
Procurement and Supply Management is an organisational function that encompasses the scoping, planning, acquisition of goods and services, resources, associated capabilities, and relationships, both internal and external, which enable an organisation to deliver on its strategic and operational objectives in a competitive, profitable, ethical, efficient, and sustainable manner.
